I made this cake for a young lady called Chanel who works with my daughter. They are both keyworkers, looking after other keyworkers children. All of her plans were cancelled due to the lockdown but we followed guidelines and her mum who is also a keyworker collected the cake contactless. Chanel loves Macarons so i made some pastel beauties to place on top of the cake. Macarons are tricky to make but i think ive finally mastered it after binning about 5 trays :(. The sponge was lemon and i handmade the rose to add elegance. Thank you Chanel and all keyworkers for being such heroes! <3 xx
