I have done several copies of famous paintings on cakes, but this was the first one done in buttercream. I usually do these with Food color gels or dusts mixed with lemon oil or pure grain alcohol. I wanted to try a different style and used only a palette knife to paint the picture. The frame is from a mold and painted with a new edible gold paint.
