“Rustic Romance”, as i would like to call it, takes inspiration from the lush mustard fields (Sarson ke khet) of Punjab, in India. The client shared with us a picture from their pre-wedding shoot, and this the look of this cake was crystal clear in my mind.
I did a crackle effect in Leaf green fondant, with a Jagger edge, and the top as well. The top edge of the cake was covered with bright yellow flowers closely arranged together to represent the mustard flowers.
The couple figurines are completely hand made from scratch and tried my level best to capture their features from the reference pic.
i personally loved the simplicity and rustic look of the cake, which is in true sense the spirit of Punjab.
