Argghhh!!! what a nightmare ive had with this cake in the heatwave here in the UK! worked all week on it lovingly and then my air con failed whilst i was and work, i came home to a melted cake ! $%^$"!!!!! so i had o stay up all night to reproduce another one, it was hellish and had me in tears but i couldn’t let my friend down. i think it came out ok in the end maybe not the lovely sharp edges it should have but the birthday girl loved it! I also spent the week trying to master macrons, now they’re a finicky little thing aren’t they. But after several failed batches i succeeded , i think. Wow what a week, but i ve learnt lots, and that’s what its all about eh?
Thank you for listening!

Beautiful!
Darina
It looks beautiful and I think every cake maker craves the cold of winter! macarons look lush too, something I’ve never tried making.x
Karen, thank you! Definitely don’t want to decorate in a heat wave again! I’d put off making macarons for years, because I’d heard they were difficult. I think I threw out four failed batches before I got the hang of it. Not a good week but certainly learnt a lot xx
