Sharing my contribution for the SpectacularPakistan An International Sugar Art Collaboration
I have chosen a beautiful #Ring from Pashtun Jewellery Art as my inspiration.
A little about Pashtun culture
The Pashtun people are Afghanistan’s largest ethnic group and are also the second-largest ethnicity in Pakistan
Pashtun jewellery is from Afghanistan, made of German silver. Such type of jewellery is also known as tribal fusion wear.
For designing contemporary Pashtun jewellery various techniques were explored. In material exploration, techniques like filigree and metal stamping were practised. These techniques are using lightweight and fine jewellery. Through filigree and metal stamping,
lightweight ornaments were manufactured. Filigree, metal stamping and die cutting are
traditional jewellery techniques.
