Cake International celebrated 25 years at Birmingham in nov and over 2000 entries were on show and among them was a collaboration called SugarPirates that had 60cake artists taking part and we won best collaboration and I’m so proud of us all .
For this collaboration I made a PirateMask ,it was made from modelling paste that I airbrushed black and then added several different cake mats to give style and texture to the mask i , for the red scarf part of the mask I used the back of a lace mat and made it one sheet then used this like silk to give the apperence of a scarf , I used gold feathers to give the mask movement and texture . I also used cakelace to make the ribbons and ties of the mask .. I added several coins to the wood effect board complete the effect .
