This cake really tugged at my heart strings.

In November I learned that a previous student of mine had terminal bone cancer. The university held a special graduation ceremony for him as he was not able to complete the school year.

A few of his close friends contacted me & asked if I could make him a cake and of course I could not say “no”. They requested his favorite flavor, carrot cake, and for it to say “Love you, Jerm” on it.

Jeremy was not expected to make it to Christmas but he was determined to spend the holiday with his family and that he did. He passed away peacefully at home on December 29th. I learned at his funeral just what an extraordinary young man he was and I have never seen do many people in attendance for a funeral.

I hope to see the day when cancer no longer takes so many from us.
