Sometimes less is more and I just love the way that this cake turned out. This was for my daughter’s best friend and Cherry had just asked for a vanilla sponge with fondant and a blob of black icing on top as she didn’t want to put me to too much trouble at Christmas as her birthday is on Christmas Day! Cherry absolutely loved my interpretation of her description (I know she loves penguins) and was blown away with it … I wish I’d videoed her face as I walked in the room with the cake.
