An Ode to Indian Art and architecture

India is a land of diversity. From its ancient traditions to its rich cultural heritage, from its natural scenic beauty to its cuisine, it’s a potpourri of cultures, religions, beliefs. It is home to innumerable languages and dialects. India has been influenced by so many different cultures and civilizations over the centuries and yet it has maintained its individuality, amalgamating and absorbing them and making them her own.
My piece is inspired by ancient sandstone temple architecture and sculptures of the South of India.
The beautiful forms and intricate carvings are a source of joy and wonder.
Another inspiration for my piece is none other than Raja Ravi Varma. His portrayal of Indian women is unique and unparalleled. This is my tribute to the great artist in my own small way.
