This cute little Christening cake was such a pleasure to design…I had so many ideas, and I loved how they all came together.
A couple of years ago when I was moving my son from cot to big bed, I wanted to add a tree wall decal in his room, and I found this really cute one that had polka dots for leaves. I never ended up actually buying it, but I have wanted to use that idea on cake for a while now, and as the Mum of little Amarlie gave me complete freedom I thought this was my chance. Amarlie’s mum really wanted an owl on the cake, as she is not the best sleeper, and there are so many beautiful girly owls out there at the moment it was easy to incorporate this. I carried the polka dot theme onto the owl, by using them on her belly.
For the cross on the top of the cake, I used tiny pale pink blossoms, similar to those on the tree, but smaller.
The flavours were chocolate mud, and cookies & cream mud.
