Had the pleasure of making this cake through Icing Smiles for a strong and beautiful young lady “Ella”. Ella was diagnosed with Awing Sarcoma on her birthday this year so could she couldn’t celebrate it. I don’t know her very well but from the story and journals written about her on Caring Bridge (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ellaedwards) and from the little interaction I had with her, I could see that she embodies strength.
When I delivered the cake, Ella had just gotten back from a chemo session but there she was, up and about and smiling too #EllaStrong #ThoughWeakYetStrong. Most importantly, she is surrounded by a strong, loving and happy family. Her siblings seemed full of life and very supportive when I was at their home. Even as I spoke with her mom asking questions, it was obvious that they were going through a storm by what she was telling me but not by her demeanor. In our weaknesses, His strength is indeed made perfect.

As much as I was a blessing to them, they were much more to me. It reminded me of the things that are important … to love and to serve and to be grateful. If all I ever did with my ability was to bring a smile to the faces of those who needed it the most, I would have served a part of my purpose on this earth.
