This red velvet, life-sized Armadillo Groom’s cake was an energizing experiment in creativity!
My daughter and I were pretty pleased with how it turned out. The biggest compliment came from a groomsman we overheard who, upon viewing it from a distance exclaimed, " What on earth!?! That looks likes an armadillo!!"
Layers were Baked in an oval roaster oven, as well as its domed lid, inverted for a pan.
Fondant, of course, became its “hide” and Rice Krispie cookies were hand molded for skull, feet, and tail “bones” after studying pics of real armadillo skeletal structure… fun!!
