I had a challenge to make this cake. I couldn’t figure out how to make the rails. I didn’t have confidence in anything I thought of. But, I had to go with something. The headboard and footboard were made of cardboard covered in fondant. The rails were made with wooden dowels wrapped in fondant. It held up beautifully while traveling across town about 6 miles on bumpy streets. I also completely decorated the cake table. These shots don’t show the full effect, but it was nicely done. Cake was almond butter flavored, with white chocolate buttercream filling and icing.
