I have wanted to do a cake that showcased Indian motifs and our love of surface ornamentation. However I wanted to stay away from piping Henna motifs , which had been done for some time. So I drew Inspiration from Faye Cahill and the techniques she teaches, and used them on this cake.

This was for a long standing client and I had carte blanche where the design was concerned. So I decided to use the wedding card as my design brief. I wanted to create a vintage mood, with very light blush pink sandstone background and play with pink and white flowers. The motif was hand cut and transferred and embellished on the cake. The flowers are Jasmine, a Wild Open Rose , and Buds with foliage.

Cake Flavour: Orange and Olive Oil cake with extra Orange Peel and Dark Chocolate Ganache.
