I was asked to do a copy of the popular ruffled bridal dress with a hanger in 2d against the cake but I prefer the challenge of doing a custom spin on cakes. So I thought why not a classic silhouette in a similar gown fashion. I did run I by the client & while she was nervous to try something different, she agreed & ultimately loved it.
I used McGreevy Cakes ruffled painted bride tutorial for guidance on the ruffles. However, while I think she used piping gel, I found it easier to work with water & wafer paper.
