A Rapunzel dress cake decorated in Fondant with a gumpaste Pascal. I improvised on the Lantern cake tops and was able to make a few of them using the extra chocolate cake from the carvings off the dress as a last minute addition. I used a sushi roller to make the lantern’s cylinder shape and flattened the tops and bottoms of each. Since the candy melts weren’t cooperating with me, I ended up making a thick white chocolate ganache tinted egg yellow and used an off set spatula to spread and smooth the chocolate around each cake pop as if frosting a cake – just in miniature form =D . They were then dusted with a little bit of orange petal dust along the top and bottom edges and the star burst was painted with AmeriColor Gel Colors. The dress is built with 8", 6, and 4" round cakes stacked to 7 inches high with a hole punched through each tier so that the doll (wrapped in saran wrap from the waist down) could easily slide into and out of the cake. I used an embossing mat for the from panel of the cake and hand sculpted Pascal out of gumpaste. TFL!
