Minecraft cake

Minecraft cake I made last summer. 14 layers of butter cake with ganache and buttercream. Homemade fondant and rice paper sword and decorations. This was a surprisingly maths heavy cake. The finish is a lot rougher than I wanted but not bad when battling 39-degree temps outside. Pretty happy with the wafer paper and fondant sword. Edible markers and food colours worked well on the wafer paper.

Thanks Sandra, I get a lot of girls cakes too, but I definitely like the boys cakes best because they usually involve less edible glitter… :) I have a lot of nephews too.

Definitely get a standard sized square cutter… I cut the pieces by hand with a ruler, the margin for error was huge. A small square cutter would have made sure they were all perfect and would have given a much better finish.
