Inspiration behind the cuisine:
Anyone growing up on bombay will have a soft spot for Irani restaurants.The comfy cafes served simple but heavenly food.
So this is a trip down memory lane into the fast disappearing jewel of bombay life.
My choice of dish is Tameta pe Edu(a tasty preparation of eggs with tomatoes )served in the pan itself along with freshly baked bread and a chilled Dukes Raspberry.
I’ve tried to add the typical elements of Irani cafes like Bentwood tables with glass tops and plaid tablecloth, tiled floors and a board with rules (parsi humour at its best).
The tablecloth is made using masking method with dust and have used isomalt for the bottle. Wax paper method for the wood panelling.
