Most of my cakes are for family. This (from about 3 years ago) was for my niece Evie-Mae’s first birthday.
I love making little girls cakes now but this was only the second cake I’d made after a 10 year break and had never done anything like it before. It did highlight my need to practice my piping skills, look at those wobbly ivy vines! The towers were made from rice crispy treats and one of them fell off on the 60 mile journey (another learning curve…buttercream alone will not hold things in place!).
