I created these twin cakes for The Superhero Project – a non-profit charity that benefits NICU babies & their families.
I handcut the 2d chibi style toppers from homemade fondant. They stood 8 inches tall.
The cakes served 220 guests. They were frosted in swiss meringue buttercream in a handpainted watercolor technique that is so fun to do! And the drip on top is a colored white chocolate ganache.
The buildings are fondant painted with white edible paint. The plan was to do RI dots but for some reason my RI went clean. Any hint or tips welcome please!
My chibi design was inspired by Avalon Cakes 3d chibi class & my watercolor was inspired by Savour the Date’s superman cake.
