Hand painted watercolour egg, with gold leaf decoration and a lace ‘dropped crown’.
Thought it would be fun to reinvent the egg for Easter -yes there’s chocolate (naturally!) in the form of a ganache shell, but also an almond and orange layer cake on the inside. The cake was hand carved, then covered in fondant and painted using gel colours and vodka. I sprayed it with an edible lacquer to give it a hard shiny finish.
