It’s all about THE (multi-toned) dress.. and her glass slipper. 💙
The client was a 7 year old girl who really loved the Cinderella movie that came out early 2015. I actually had not seen the movie so when they showed me pictures I was blown away by that multi-colored dress. They wanted to use Cinderella’s magical dress as the inspiration for this cake. First thing came to my mind was the skirt as Cinderella spins around, the color changes and sparkles… and THE TULLE! It was just very pretty. I also suggested the shoulder details on the dress with those pretty butterflies. And last but not the least, they wanted to incorporate the gold butterfly.
Middle and bottom tiers were all made out of fondant, with added maybe 4 or 5 different colors of luster dust on the shoulder and skirt details just like in the movie (very hard to see in the pic :( but they show in person! :)). I used wafer paper for the realistic looking butterflies around the middle tier. And finally, I used Magic Decor mixture to create the butterfly on the top tier and painted it gold. The top tier was buttercream and sprayed with pearl color mist.
