This adorable Monster Truck cake was created for a little girl that loves the Nick Jr. character “Blaze”. The cake is a French Vanilla Butter cake with a simple vanilla buttercream. The dirt is made from crushed cookies and the edible rocks are made of 50/50 mix of fondant and gumpaste. Little Miss Jordan had some severe food allergies which made this project such a labor of love. Thankfully we were able to pull this cake together through prayer, google and help from a food allergy specialist. I have only been baking to this degree since Feb 2015 so this project was such a learning experience. I was later told that they actually make a tire mold that I could have used to achieve this same effect. (It took me 2 hours to cut out each individual tread piece) I went to Tire and Auto Store and took a picture of their tires to figure out how to put this project together.. Like I said before a labor of Love! :-)
