It was my lucky day when Chitra (my client) asked me to create a Children’s Book theme cake for a Baby Shower :). I was so so excited as if I was the one who was hosting the entire event. The reasons; I love books, and me and my sonny boy; we bond over very these books….its our special time. I had earlier designed a generic baby shower toy box, but when Chitra told me that they’ve come up with this theme, the nerdy me took flat 15 minutes to envision where I was gonna place these fellas :D. I bet you are enjoying my detailed musings :P
Okay so yes, The Cake! Its a rich chocolate cake, using the finest quality Callebaut Cocoa. On the board we’ve the cute teddy Corduroy and the two of the many fishes from Dr. Seuss’ One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Poking out from the box, we have Poky, the little puppy, and the friendly mouse from If you gave a mouse a cookie…isn’t he looking happy with that cookie?? And crawling on top, trying to reach to that apple is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
While trying to take the photographs, I realized that my camera’s battery were exhausted….still managed one or two shots on a hastily. But Chitra obliged me with a few pretty shots of her own(God bless her!) :). That is why there’s a bit of difference between the two and the very hungry caterpillar is looking baldy in one… You see, the clumsy me knocked off its antennae :P
