I chose this book because it was one of my favorite childhood stories, and even though I had an elaborate design in mind, unfortunately I wasn’t able to produce it, because the weekend before starting to make this cake, I injured my finger badly cutting garden hedges, and I got stung by a wasp (or was it a yellow jacket) which had my arm swollen and stiff for days. Don’t worry, I’m getting better now :) I just couldn’t back out of this collaboration after committing to it!
The bottom part of the cake (representing the Earth) was chocolate fudge cake and the top part of the cake (representing the sky) was banana flavored sponge cake. The entire cake was filled and covered with chocolate ganache then decorated with fondant.
This cake depicts Jack, having fallen off the beanstalk when he stole the magic goose with its golden eggs, running from the Giant, chasing after him.
Thanks for looking :)
