These were the succulents & mums I made. I posted the cake & will post the pictures of the cutters used to. Lots of fun to make. They really pop with the holly green & cranberry luster dusts. They don’t look like much until you add that bit of red on the tips. For that one with the j"tubes" sticking up, I used a light weight wire & made them individually which was very easy to do.
I put a large piece of packaging foam I had in a 12×12 box & then a smaller piece. I stuck skewers through the box into the foam & this was perfect for traveling with the flowers. TIP! make lots of holes in the foam & put in coffee stirrers in the holes because the flowers don’t necessarily go in easily even when there is a hole.
When I put the flowers into the cake, I stick the wires into another coffee stirrer & put them into the cake.
I used a heavy wire to make gumpaste balls. It really doesn’t matter what color as I then covered the balls with a small petal & slid it to cover the top of the ball from there. I had electric green gumpaste/fondant which wasn’t to nice but I was thrilled when I dusted with the holly green lustre dust. Anything really works with these succulents. I even used the pointy flower cutter from Cakes by Bien (Holland – great quality cutters).
so cool, these look exactly like the plants, brilliant tips too. x

Easy to make & fun too. Just pinch the edges. I can’t wait to make a potted plant version.
