I am truly thrilled to be nominated by the India’s Cake Artist Network to showcase my talent on the “Lost in Candy Land” theme this year.
About my creation
I spent many days looking for themes, which would be different and unique and enable the best use of candy and colours. What finally caught my imagination were the beautiful colours and vibrancy of our country, especially India’s artisans. Thus crystallised the idea of a Gujarati Kutch-work theme, and the cake started taking shape in my mind. Each artisan spends months to handcraft a single treasure, and I realized this first hand when I spent 5 days of relentless and pain-staking effort to design my creation.
What you see is a gorgeous, vibrant, Kutch-work bag, with each unique patch adorned with gems, tic-tacs, sugar sprinkles, sour strips and fondant in colours that truly represent our beautiful country and its handicrafts. At MiaTorteCakes
