I made this for my nephew’s first birthday after my sister nagged me for weeks! I don’t think I even made my own kids a first birthday cake!!! He’d just had his first beach holiday and had spent the whole time on the sand. It was simple Victoria Sponge beneath. I used a catering dowel to support the fondant windmill.
