Yesterday, our Sugar Sharing Socialites Collaboration went live & I’m so excited to have been a part of it. It was my very first cake collaboration & together with 16 extremely talented sugar artists, we shared with you our celebration of cakes, friendship & social media.
A parody of the popular nursery rhyme, my piece is called ‘Four and Twenty Twitter Birds cooked in a Bunny Chow.’ The bunny chow is a very popular take away meal here in South Africa & is basically, hollowed out bread filled with curry.
The most challenging aspect of this piece was definitely getting the fondant to look exactly like bread, but after many, many unsuccessful experiments, I finally had a light bulb moment & I think I nailed it. The plate is also sugar with hand painted flags. Hope you like it xx
