This cake was for a medical technologist graduate at UNC, he is already working at a blood bank, therefore his family asked for a cake that had to do with blood.
This cake was about 15 inches tall. There is a metal rod in the center of the board holding the cake board. The cakes were stacked (2-8in and 2-6 in), shaped, ganached and finally covered with a mixture of modeling chocolate-fondant. This was my first gravity defying cake and it was really fun to make.
