I am so excited to show my “Black and White illusion” cake, which I made for Cake Masters magazine, May issue.
My cake design has a strong Asian influence. I choose a Stargazer oriental lily, which is believed to be one of the best flowers for weddings and it represents one hundred years of love in China. It is a symbol of beauty, innocence and wealth. I tried to increase the Asian influence on my cake design by adding bamboo sticks as fillers to my stargazer oriental lily arrangement and hand painted an optical art/ an optical illusion on the bottom tier of my cake, which has some resemblance to Chinese calligraphy.
