This is the cake I made for my daughters birthday a few weeks ago – 7 layers for 7 years. The cakes are vanilla bean layered with strawberry popping candy buttercream and coved with vanilla buttercream and sprinkles. It took me a while to figure out how to get the sprinkles on without messing up the icing. I ended up siting the cake on it’s setup board at an angle in a big tray and filled the base of the tray with the sprinkles. I then took a big sweep of the sprinkles with my hand and continued the motion to roll the sprinkles up the side of the cake. It worked great :)
