This was my piece for the recent Sir Peter Jackson films inspired Cakes from Middle Earth collaboration – https://www.facebook.com/cakesfrommiddleearth?fref=ts. This is only 7th individual cake I’ve ever covered in fondant, and my first time doing a non-round cake. Also my first time hand-painting. The figures were carved out to give them some depth, and the sky behind them was marbled slightly to add another point of interest. I’m really happy with how it came out.
