Crossing the Line, a Sir Peter Jackson short film

Crossing the Line, a Sir Peter Jackson short film

this piece is my contribution to the 100% Kiwi collaboration celebrating the works of Sir Peter Jackson. Based on the short film Crossing the Line which was amazingly filmed in just 2 days.
This piece has significant pieces from the storyline, including the trenches, the German planes chasing the pilot in the Biplane, the teddy bear which was dropped from the cockpit of the plane, the photo dropped by a soldier, and the blood red poppies.
the backdrop was airbrushed and then details handpainted, the wings of the biplane are fondant covered balsa and it has a small motor nestled in the nose which powers the propeller.
31 New Zealand cakers have outdone themselves in this collab, bursting with pride over how amazing he is.
We have had awesome sponsorship from New World, Go Bake, KiwiCakes, Bakels and Orrcom
