Wow, …does this cake have a story… Let me tell you this cake is the second attempt to finish. The first cake was size 8,10 once complete, I had placed it on a cake stand to photograph it, suddenly with out any hints of falling…. it collapsed yikes!!!!! :O all that i could save was the top tier and the figurines. I was so disappointed. :’( But i had to complete a cake for my raffle. So what i did i just baked a chocolate cake.. small, size 6" for the top tier. top is chocolate w/ chocolate ganache filling, bottom tier is vanilla cake w/ Bavarian filling… I then i wanted to use a new technique so I added the Ombre effect using fondant, and it sure made it look like the waves of the Ocean. Beautifully done. I love the Little mermaid and the Ombre technique does look like the wave. Amazing job!
