“Aloha Au Ia ’Oe” is what I have to say to the blooming island flora that bring this Hawaiian inspired wedding cake to life. Sometimes a cake comes together in a way that blows the top off the sketch—and with each gum paste sugar flower i carefully put on, this cake did just that. I started several days prior with the centerpiece Bird of Paradise, then created the Hibiscus and Anthurium—a multi step process for sure! The cake was a tropical profile of orange blossom buttermilk cake filled with silky passionfruit buttercream and honey strawberry buttercream and finished in vanilla bean buttercream.
