Hi all,

I had a busy (and exhausting) day yesterday (as anyone who has read yesterdays moan thread in cake disasters will know) but at long last I have success! after 2 failed batches each of cupcakes AND macarons – I couldn’t bring myself to post that particular update, it was far too depressing – I finally managed to make these. I’ve made hundreds of cupcakes and macarons before, somehow the fates conspired to deprive me of all common sense yesterday and I managed to spend the whole day in clouds of sugar and with my kitchen looking like a disaster zone. And soo many leftovers….. sooooo many! But it’s over now, and my friend who requested these treats is so sweet I’d go through it all again for her (….er yeah but maybe not any time soon! seriously, I need a break XD)

Lemon cupcakes with vanilla chocolate topping & handmade raspberry truffle chocolates (there was also a failed batch here but I ate most of those) and cake lace, rose macarons with pistachio buttercream filling
