A 2 layer chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. The blue stars are fondant cut outs. The eagle and his nest are hand sculpted fondant. The nest was sculpted from a single piece of fondant. I tried a few different methods for the nest but went back to my carving basics. We hand painted the nest to give it a more organic feel. He’s pretty cute.
