I made this for my daughter’s 7th birthday; she had 12 children at her party so this worked well – one princess each as a party favour. I didn’t have enough time to dry each body part in position and the princesses were quite wobbly (top heavy with hats etc) but I was pleased with the hair, as it was the first time I had tried using royal icing. I found the instructions quite labour intensive, because different shades of apricot and orange were recommended and the skirts had different piped designs, which I didn’t have time for. Unfortunately, there was a thunderstorm happening when I delivered the cake to the venue, which traumatised some of the princesses…!
