This was for my Nana’s 90th birthday. The pictures is of her and Granddaddy in 1942, and one of her, Uncle Larry and my mom. This was my first attempt at billowed fondant and roses. Everything is edible, bottom is lemon pound with lemon curd and lemon buttercream covered in fondant billows. The top was a hummingbird cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream covered, the hummingbird design was from a pillow I saw in a design magazine, made with just small buttercream dots. The roses are made using the Mcreevy Cakes rose tutorial, it is the best.
This is probably one of my favorite cakes ever.
