I made this Okami cake for my fiancé’s birthday. He’s a massive gamer, and I chose Okami for his cake because it’s the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. It’s so artistic, and breath-taking to watch. I painted the scene on to sugar paste, but as my fiancé isn’t a big fan of sugar paste, the rest of the cake is covered in buttercream (and not very neatly as you can see – it was a bit rushed. This was my first hand painted cake and it took a lot longer than I expected, so I didn’t have much time to focus on the rest of the cake.)

Inside is coconut cake filled with lemon curd and fresh whipped cream, covered in lemon buttercream.
