Ice cream anyone? I don’t mind admitting I love this cake and it made me smile everytime I looked at it! It was ordered as a suprise for Bob, who travels to Lake Garda every year and is rather partial to the Italian gelato and enjoys a sundae or two when he visits!

I have placed a cupcake by the cake in one of the photos to give an idea of scale. Presenting a cake in a trifle dish is a new one on me and it took a leap of faith to drop the main body of the cake into it! The 4 scoops of ice cream are mini cakes, the whipped cream is buttercream, all of the fruit, the 65 badge, the spoon handle and the triangle wafer was hand made from sugarpaste, the other wafer is real! The strawberry sauce is piping gel. I delivered it to a local pub earlier, ready to suprise Bob and the reaction I got was amazing, I’ve also had super feedback from the customer. Even though it’s left me, it’s still making me smile!
