Vintage cup and saucer – This has just won an award for ‘Cake topper of the Year 2012’

I created this design for a close friend’s birthday whom I have known for many years. Because of our close friendship I was able to draw on my knowledge of her style. The concept for the cake originally came to me in a dream which I had to work on the very next morning to create the first prototype. The cup and saucer are hand moulded with guilt brushwork and a natural flower finish. I bake all my cakes and on this occasion I was able to test out a new recipe for a special gluten free customer.
