This is the last cake I made for 2013. It’s a Iban of Borneo wedding cake . The bride & bridegroom are wearing “Ngepan” the traditional Iban of Borneo costume. The bridegroom is a warrior. He is carrying the “terabai” shield & “sangkuh” spear & wearing “sirat” the coin-cloth. He has the “pantang bungai terung” the traditional Borneo tattoo on his shoulder, chest & legs. The bride is carrying “buah pauh” the jewellery. She is wearing “sugu tinggi” the headdress, “marek empang” /tango, “selampai” shawl & “sementing ringgit” the silver coin. Both of them are standing on the “pua kumbu” traditional tribal textile. The cakes are the pillow cake made from vanilla butter cake & the Italian meringue butter cream I love the most. The “terabai” & “pua kumbu” are hand painted. This is a wedding cake ordered by a customer for his brother. This cake will be delivered to a “Long House” somewhere in Bintulu. Hope this cake will bring a big smile for the newly wed couple tonight ^^. Happy Wedding & Happy New Year 2014!!!
