The cutting cake on top is a 4 layer vanilla sponge that was filled with vanilla buttercream and then had a thin layer of marzipan underneath the icing to make sure it had a nice smooth finish.
The cupcakes are also vanilla and half had a rose swirl of buttercream piped on and finished off with a sugarpaste leaf and the other half were topped with a disc of ivory sugarpaste and decorated with hand made red rose buds.
