I know that many, and I mean many, cake decorators don’t like Wilton fondant – they don’t like the texture and mostly, they don’t like the flavor. However, after trying Satin Ice, Duff and Fondx, I keep going back to Wilton. The other brands were too soft, especially Duff, which made covering the cakes a challenge for me. I have yet to try making my own fondant, so maybe I’ll try it when I have some free time. The funny thing is that, regardless of the brand, most people don’t eat the fondant!
