A few years back my husband and I decided we wanted to do something fun for ourselves and signed up for a local cake decorating class. Since we both love to bake and try new things. Why not? After the first class we were hooked. We ended up successfully completing the cake decorating program and realized how much we loved cake decorating. Family and friends kept asking us to make cakes, and so we did. While both holding fulltime jobs and having two children we eventually were making cakes all the time and finally decided to turn our passion and talent into a business. That's when "IT'S A CAKE THING" was created. While my husband has kept his fulltime job, I recently began working on cakes fulltime and watch my youngest on his off days from kindergarten. It's such a great creative outlet for me and I LOVE it. I can't wait to keep trying new things and learning from the best. This is only the beginning of my journey...
