New beginnings #6: Xmas elves for the school Xmas fair

Well what have I been upto these past couple of days? The answer making Xmas elves for my daughter Xmas fair. I found the idea on the pink whisk website they looked fab.
I had everything in already to make them so didn’t really cost anything.
First I made the sugar cookie dough ad cut them out with a love heart cutter which made 2 elf heads as you cut them in half.
I moulded them onto lolly sticks securing further with an extra blob of dough and set them in the oven for 15 minutes which was perfect timing.
Next came the decorating I had to do this in bulk so it was cut all the faces and stick on then all the green hats. The red trim was the tricky part as all the triangles need cutting out.
Looking like an elf now it was time to bring them to life with black eyes little ears noses a mouth made with a nozzle end edible glitter on the heels and finishing touches a nose and silver balls for the hat.
I popped them all in lolly bags and wrapped the securely.
To stand them up I jut wrapped an egg box in Xmas paper and skewered holes into it which worked fine.
My daughter tested the first one and she said it was yummy :-)
I did have fun making these but need to allow longer for decorating as its time consuming with a 1 year old running round your ankles too :-)

Let the cakey adventure begin :-)
