That is one amazing cake! I’ve been dabbling with the old hand painting on practice bits. I notice you used petal dust and not gels. Do you always use dusts? Do you mix them with vodka? And lastly, would you mind sharing what brushes you use? I’ve get to find a small brush (for the fine strokes) that I feel I have control over :-/

Hiya Suzybakes ! Thank you so much lovely ! For the black and white ones it is just the Sugarflair ‘Midnight’ black (it has a little sparkle in it) and reg black dusts, and yes, mixed with either vodka or lemon juice. For those painted with colour I usually use dusts and pastes to mix up to the colours I need. I only use a very feint sketch at first as it’s easy to ‘erase’ with a little touch of vodka and just start over … I have all sorts and sizes of brushes – I f you find an art/hobby/craft shop, have a look at their ranges … there are those for a large colour wash, right down to the fine detailing brushes, so if you’re thinking of doing it quite regularly it’s probably handy to have a few various sizes. Most of mine are sable, but I do have the synthetic ones too … It’s whatever you prefer really. I’ll see if I can find a good link for you for starters … Hope that helps ! Have fun, I find it really therapeutic being in the painty zone :) xx
