This was a cake I created for my mother for Mothering Sunday.
The 8" tall cake was decorated with a handmade sugar teacup and saucer. The teacup contains a chocolate banana cupcake with a chocolate buttercream swirl and decorated with an edible image photoframe.
The main cake made up of a 4" maisie fantaisie vanilla cake filled with chocolate ganache and another 4" chocolate maisie fantaisie cake filled with ganache. The two cakes were separated by a cake board in the middle, so to cut the cake, a knife was inserted in the pink strip and the top cake was lifted off, giving two 6" round cakes.
The sugar photoframe contains an edible image and decorated to compliment the cake.
